Nyxy was a member of a hunter and gatherer tribe who were much taller and more robust than modern Home Sapien Sapiens. They had black-bluish skin and kinky white hair. Their custom was to carry the ashes of their relatives in large urns in the shape of hourglasses. Using clay, they formed sad faces on Urns for people who died of misfortune or as the result of evil deeds. On the other Urns they molded smiling faces for those who died close to family and who led a fulfilling life.

For generations her Tribe had been hunted by a strange entity called a Grenzgaenge that kept them constantly on the move. Being more brave and curious than her kin, Nyxy pursued the creature that plagued the tribe, to see it face to face. The being possessed her and she became the first vampire after she massacred her tribe by draining all their blood in a gluttonous frenzy. When she awoke from her crazed frenzy and realized what she had done, sorrow consumed her. She used her new found matter manipulation powers to create two large Urns from the exsanguinated bodies of her tribesman. One had the face of grief, sorrow, and eternal pain; the other had the face of mischief and sinister laughter. They would be a memento to her lost humanity.

Nyxy has been alive for more than 200,000 years and has the power to raze all of humanity if it were not for early vampire hunters who used very old magic to banish her to a tenebrous and ethereal dimension called the Umbra. During certain types of Eclipses, Nyxy can cross over into our realm and has done so thousands of times throughout history to plague humanity or satisfy her curiosity about humanity. Nyxy can also enter our realm if she's summoned. She can stay longer, but in a weakened state unless she sucks the essence of human beings. She has multiple ways of doing this. Her unique physiology allows her to suck the blood in a person, the water in a person, or just the iron in a person. Each ability either kills the person or turns them into various types of ghouls or vampires. She also has the ability to steal your soul by opening one her Urns. She can also manipulate inanimate objects, but such an ability is draining, so she uses it sparingly.
